We had a great turn out for our model search! A couple times a year we try to find fresh new faces to introduce into our marketing campaigns. It is truly a win-win for everybody – our aspiring models get to practice their skills in front of the camera and build their self confidence (It’s not as easy as you think to pose and take direction while there is an on looking crowd!) and receive some free instruction and photos. And we get to meet new and wonderful people to introduce into the SKY family.
Sometimes we are amazed at how some models are simply “naturals”. Often, the shy one – with the secret longing to model – gets in front of the camera and… WOW! – We all get our socks blown off. You just never know until you try. We have seen over the years that this experience has truly been a real self esteem builder for many young models – teens and pre-teens alike.
The weather cooperated fully – not too warm and plenty of clouds! If you don’t already know it, photographers hate the sun. Cloudy conditions give a lot more control to the photographer and there is also a lot less squinting going on. Nobody likes squinting! We were able to take advantage of one of my favorite outside locations – the old bank drive-thru and the brick façade.
